SOUP TO NUTS: An 8-Week Screenwriting Course

 

Welcome to SOUP TO NUTS, an intensive 8-week screenwriting course led by me, Pete Hewitt. This course is designed to take you from an initial idea all the way to a completed first draft of your screenplay.

 

Course Details

Duration: 8 weeks

Includes: 8 hours of one-on-one Zoom instruction + ongoing email support.

Cost: $1,950 (£1,514, €1,800)

 

Throughout the course, we’ll refine your concept, build a solid roadmap, and develop your script step by step—Soup to Nuts.

 

Course Breakdown

Week 1: IDEA We start with your initial concept—whether it’s a single sentence or a detailed outline—and shape it into a clear, one-page statement.

🔹 Zoom session: Review and refine your one-pager.

 

Week 2: TREATMENT Your one-pager expands into a 5–10 page treatment, serving as the blueprint for your script.

🔹 Zoom session: Revise and finalize your treatment.

 

Weeks 3 & 4: FIRST ACT (Pages 1–30)Time to write, not worry—get your first 30 pages down, then revise and refine.

🔹 Zoom session: Review Act 1, assess story progression, and prepare for Act 2.

 

Weeks 5 & 6: SECOND ACT (Pages 31–60)Following the same approach, we’ll draft, revise, and refine your next 30 pages.

🔹 Zoom session: Review Act 2 and set up for the final act.

 

Weeks 7 & 8: THIRD ACT (Pages 61–90)Push through to the finish line—write, rewrite, and complete your first draft.

🔹 Zoom session: Final review and feedback.

🔹 Last-day Zoom: Wrap-up and debrief.
